is an exhibition that restructures the space with contemporary artists using the museum’s Asian fiber-based collection as motifs. Contemporary fiber artists present how the use and patterns of ancient textiles can be continued and how each piece can influence one another in this exhibition.
The exhibition is divided into three themes: Space Rearrangement; Image Repetition; Transformation and Evolution. The first section ‘Space Rearrangement’ includes fiber collections that can be found in the living room, such as wall decorations, furniture, carpets, and folding screens from Korea, China, Japan alongside related works by contemporary artists.
The second section ‘Image Repetition’ shows the connection with traditional patterns and a sense of the period through the repetitive patterns of fiber artifacts and contemporary art works on display.
The third section, ‘Transformation and Evolution’ presents contemporary textile structures and installations that altered the original use of traditional textiles, which serve as motifs.
